Confession and Forgiveness
In the name of the Father, and of the ☩ Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.
In humility and faith we pray that we may receive mercy and find grace to help in our time of need.
Silence for reflection and self-examination
Most merciful God,
We confess that we are captive to sin and cannot free ourselves. We have sinned against you in thought, word and deed, by what we have done and by what we have left undone. We have not loved you with our whole heart; we have not loved our neighbors as ourselves. For the sake of your Son, Jesus Christ, have mercy on us. Forgive us, renew us, and lead us, so that we may delight in your will and walk in your ways, to the glory of your holy name. Amen.
May almighty God have mercy on us, forgive us our sins and bring us into everlasting life. Amen

Sermon
Apostles’ Creed
I believe in God, the Father almighty,
creator of heaven and earth.
I believe in Jesus Christ, God’s only Son, our Lord,
who was conceived by the Holy Spirit,
born of the virgin Mary,
suffered under Pontius Pilate,
was crucified, died, and was buried;
he descended to the dead.
On the third day he rose again;
he ascended into heaven,
he is seated at the right hand of the Father,
and he will come to judge the living and the dead.
I believe in the Holy Spirit,
the holy catholic church,
the communion of saints,
the forgiveness of sins,
the resurrection of the body,
and the life everlasting. Amen.

Closing Prayers
Let us pray.
A brief silence is kept before the prayer.
O Word of God incarnate, O Wisdom from on high,
O Truth unchanged, unchanging, O Light in our dark sky,
We praise you for the radiance that from the hallowed page,
A Lantern to our footsteps, shines on from age to age.
O Truth unchanged, unchanging, O Light in our dark sky,
We praise you for the radiance that from the hallowed page,
A Lantern to our footsteps, shines on from age to age.
Amen (ELW #514, stanza 1)
Lord, remember us in your kingdom, and teach us to pray.
Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name, thy kingdom come, thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread; and forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us; and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, forever and ever. Amen
Almighty God, Father, ☩ Son, and Holy Spirit, bless us now and forever. Amen
Be at Peace, Christ is with you. Thanks be to God!
